equivalent series resistance (ESR) and the power dissipation
capabilitiesofthedevice.PermissibleACripplevoltage
whichmaybeappliedislimitedbytwocriteria:
1.ThepositivepeakACvoltageplustheDCbiasvoltage,
ifany,mustnotexceedtheDCvoltageratingofthe
capacitor.
2.ThenegativepeakACvoltageincombinationwith
biasvoltage,ifany,mustnotexceedtheallowablelimits
speciedforreversevoltage.SeetheReverseVoltage
sectionforallowablelimits.
Themaximumpowerdissipationbycasesizecanbe
determinedusingthetableatright.Themaximumpower
dissipationratingstatedinthetablemustbereduced
withincreasingenvironmentaloperatingtemperatures.
