Installation Guide
GENERAL GUIDELINES TO TILE INSTALLATION IN INTERIOR AREAS
Carefully follow all instructions provided by the manufacturers of installation materials to ensure success.
1. SURFACE PREPARATION
Make sure the installation surface is flat, solid, and clean of all debris, dry, free of wax, soap scum and
grease.
Any damaged, loose, or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and completely dry prior to
installation.
2. WALL LAYOUT
Determine the height at which you want to place the tile pieces, using a level to draw a plumb line in the
wall’s center.
3. CUTTING
If you need to cut the decorative tile, use a tile cutter or wet saw to cut it to the desired size.
Follow all safety precautions and wear protective glasses.
4. INSTALLATION
It is recommended to use a white thinset mortar with a flexible acrylic additive or a white polymer fortified
thinset mortar.
Apply adhesive in accordance the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Apply adhesive to the surface of the wall and to the back of each tile.
Avoid getting adhesive on the surface of the tile, which should be cleaned off before it dries.
The decorative tiles do not need spacers between them since the designs are continuous and they have
the rectified ends facilitating the installation without spaces.
5. APPLYING GROUT
Grout color is a matter of personal taste and care should be taken in color selection before grouting.
The setting material must be fully dry before attempting to grout. Consult the instructions for your setting
material to find the recommended drying time.
Apply grout in small sections using a rubber float.
Before applying the grout, cover the surface of the decorative tile with masking tape to avoid staining and
make clean-up easier.
6. FINISHING INSTALLATION
With a dry, lint-free cloth, remove excess grout from the surface of the tile. Lightly dampen a sponge with
warm water and continue to clean grout off of the tile. Once it appears to be clean, wipe it down again with
a fresh, lightly damp sponge to remove any grout film.
After about 15 minutes, buff the tile with a soft cloth.
For optimal performance, avoid exposing the glass products to excessive moisture before installation.
It is recommended to use a nonabrasive cleaners and materials to protect the tile finish.
