• Windowinsectscreensarenotsecuritydevicesandwillnotpreventa
child or anyone from falling through.
• Nevermixcleanersorsolvents.Thismaybedangerousaswell
asineffective.
• Usehelpwhenworkingwithalargewindowsashorpatiodoorpanel
toavoidinjury.
• Useproper/safeequipmentandprecautionswhencleaningand
servicingtheexteriorsideofwindowsabovegroundlevel.
• Ifusingcommercialcleaningornishingproductsorsolvents,
carefully read and follow safety instructions, warnings, cautions and
disposal instructions on manufacturer’s labels. Wear appropriate
safetygear(e.g.clothing,goggles,gloves)andprovideplenty
ofventilation.
• Immediatelycleanspills.
• Mostsolventsareammableand/ortoxicandmustbehandledwith
extremecare.Donotusenearopename,sparksorelectricalmotors.
RECOMMENDATIONS
• Donotpower-washwindowsoruseagardenhose;thiscancause
seal failure and allow water to enter the structure.
• Whencleaningexterior,multi-storywindows,beginwiththeupper
story and work down.
• Avoidusingmetaltools,razorblades,orothersharpobjectsand
abrasive cleaners. They can damage window surfaces, scratch glass
and remove glass coatings.
• Donotallowaggressivecleanerstocomeintocontactwithmetal
clad or wood surfaces. Immediately rinse and dry.
• Donotallowcleanerstopuddleorcollectatglassedgesnear
glazingmaterials.
• Avoidcleaningindirectsunlightorintemperaturestoohotor
toocold.
• Avoidexcessiverubbingandover-cleaning.
• Donotscour.
• Cleanandrinseoneareaatatime.
• Cleantwiceayear(monthlyincoastalareas)orwhendirty.
• After-markettintsandlmsarenotrecommended,astheymaycause
damagetotheglassand/orsealant.
