1) Find the desired mounting location for the hinge on the cabinet face frame.
Mark the outline of the hinge leaf with a combination square.
2) Use a marking gauge to measure the thickness of the hinge leaf and mark the
outer cabinet face to account for the leaf thickness.
3) Use a utility knife to trace out the leaf outline. Finish mortising the cabinet
face frame with either a chisel or wood router.
4) Once mortised, mark the screw holes for the hinge on the cabinet frame and
drill pilot holes. Mount the hinge onto the frame.
5) Mark the leaf outlines, with the combination square, on edge of the cabinet
door. Also mark the face of the cabinet door with the marking gauge to
account for the leaf thickness.
6) Repeat step #3 for the cabinet door.
7) With the leaf at its open position, mark the screw holes for the hinge on the
door and drill pilot holes. Mount the hinge onto the door.
