HT300 1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES This apparatus conforms to EMC standards relating to electronic measuring instruments. For your own safety and that of the apparatus, you must follow the procedures described in this instruction manual and specially read all the notes preceded by the symbol carefully. Strictly keep to the following instructions before and during measurements: • Do not effect measurements in environments with explosive gas, fuels or dust.
HT300 2. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The HT300 meter can perform the following measurements: • • • • • • Temperature measurement in °C/°F by means of K/J type probes Maximum, minimum and average (AVG) values Relative measurement Data HOLD Offset adjustment for compensation of external probes Auto power OFF. Each function could be selected via the relative key. The selected quantity appears on a high-contrast liquid crystal display with indication of measurement unit and of the active functions.
HT300 4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 4.1. INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION LEGEND: 1. LCD display 2. Function keys 3. Battery hole 4. Battery cover 5. Input terminal T1 Fig. 1: Instrument description 4.2. FUNCTION KEY DESCRIPTION 4.2.1. °C/°F key The temperature’s measuring unit setting is available by pushing °C/°F key, °C Celsius degree and °F Fahrenheit degree can be shown cyclically when pressing “°C / °F” key.
HT300 4.2.4. HOLD key By pushing HOLD key the parameter’s measured value is frozen on the display and the symbol “Hold” appears on it. Pushing HOLD key another time deactivates this mode. While HOLD function is active, °C/°F, TYPE, MAX MIN and REL keys are inoperative. 4.2.5. REL key By pushing REL key the instrument takes the actual parameter’s value as on offset and performs a relative measurement, the symbol “REL” is displayed.
HT300 4.3. TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT CAUTION Maximum input voltage is 24V DC or ACRMS. Do not attempt to apply any voltage that exceeds the limits indicates in this manual to avoid electrical shock hazard or damage the instrument. 1. Insert the connectors of the type K or J probe on T1 input terminal respecting the polarity (+) and (-) (see Fig. 1) shown on the instrument and on the connector of probe 2. Switch on the instrument by pushing key 3. The temperature value is shown on the display 4.
