HP XP7 Fast Snap User Guide (TK913-96003)

RequirementItem
128Pool limit per storage system
This can include THP, Smart, and FS pool types.
Dynamically increase the pool-VOL capacity. To do this, increase the capacity
for at least one parity group.
Increasing capacity
Use the following workflow to decrease pool capacity:Decreasing pool capacity
1. Delete the pool-VOLs (see “Decreasing pool capacity” (page 121)).
2. Reconfigure the pool (see “Workflow for creating Fast Snap data pools
(page 38)).
The pool is not used by an FS pair.Deleting pools
For more information about deleting pools, see “Deleting pools (page 130).
Value: Warning ThresholdData pool warning threshold
Range: 20 - 95%, in 1% increments.
Default: 80%
Note: If you exceed the data pool warning threshold, a warning is issued
through a service information message (SIM) and an SNMP trap reporting
excessing pool usage.
For more information:
About editing the data pool warning threshold, see “Editing the data pool
warning threshold” (page 124).
About checking alerts and checking the details of a SIM, see the HP XP7

For FS only, you can also use consistency group numbers 128 to 255 (80 to
FF).
8,192 pairs per consistency group.Pair limit
Note: You cannot define a mix of BC, BC Z, and FS pairs in a consistency
group. FS consistency groups can only contain FS pairs.
Snapshot group requirements
The following table explains requirements for snapshot groups.

After you create a snapshot group, you cannot change the name.
