HP XP7 Fast Snap User Guide (TK913-96003)
The following workflow shows the FS pair status changes:
1. You choose two unpaired volumes and complete the following:
• You pair the P-VOL with at least one S-VOL (“PAIR” status).
• You do not pair the P-VOL with an S-VOL. The pair status changes to “COPY” and then
to “PAIR”.
2. You created the pair to store snapshot data (“PSUS” status).
3. You complete one of the following:
• You delete the last P-VOL snapshot data and then immediately continue to create an FS
pair.
NOTE: The process of deleting the last P-VOL snapshot data can take time. You can
accelerate the pair deletion process (see “Workflow for accelerating the pair deletion
process” (page 87)).
• You exceed the data pool threshold (“PFUL” status).
NOTE: Exceeding the data pool threshold while in the “PSUS” status changes the pair
status to “PFUS”.
• You split the pair and snapshot data is stored (“PSUS” status) (see “Splitting Fast Snap
pairs to store snapshot data” (page 73)).
4. You complete one of the following while the pair has exceeded the data pool threshold (“PFUS”
status):
• You delete the snapshot data without first releasing the FS pair (see “Deleting Fast Snap
pairs” (page 85)).
• You release the pair (see “Releasing Fast Snap pairs” (page 87)).
