HP StorageWorks P9000 Replication Manager Software 7.1.1 Configuration Guide (TB584-96029, September 2011)
A Environment settings when using the Core
CLI License
In the procedure described in “Configurations for open systems” on page 13, if you are using Device
Manager with the Core CLI License to add a resource (storage system) to Device Manager, you should
use Device Manager CLI as described in this appendix.
Overview
Follow this procedure:
1. Check the necessary settings as described in “Preparing to use Device Manager CLI” on page 131.
2. Follow the instructions in “Adding a storage system” on page 132.
If you want to add a host as a resource when there is a host that does not use a Device Manager
Agent, see “Adding a host” on page 135.
The descriptions herein assume that Device Manager CLI is used to execute commands on a computer
on which Device Manager server is installed. For details about Device Manager CLI, see the HP
StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software CLI User Guide.
Preparing to use Device Manager CLI
You need to set up a Java environment to use Device Manager CLI on a server on which Device
Manager server has been installed. Also, you need to check information such as the installation folder
and login ID before executing commands.
Java environment settings
To use the JRE used by Device Manager server for Device Manager CLI, specify the path of that JRE
for the environment variable HDVM_CLI_JRE_PATH. The path of the JRE is as follows:
P9000-Command-View-AE-Common-Component-installation-folder\jdk\jre\bin
