Figure 17 Sequence of actions to take if a problem occurs
1. Check the displayed messages for information about the problem and correct the error.
If the message RPM-00824 or KAVN01281-E is displayed, take action as described in
“Troubleshooting detailed message RPM-00824” on page 123.
2. Check the messages output to the Replication Manager event log and correct the error. For details
on how to view the event log data, see the HP P9000 Replication Manager Software User Guide.
3. If you cannot correct the error, execute the hcmdsgetlogs command to obtain the maintenance
information and contact HP Technical Support.
Send all the information to HP Technical Support. For details on how to execute specific maintenance
commands, see “Collecting maintenance information” on page 114.
If the error occurred on a host or pair management server, also obtain maintenance information from
Device Manager Agent. For details, see the HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite
Software Administrator Guide.
Collecting maintenance information
The cvxpaegetlogs command allows you to collect maintenance information about Replication
Manager and other P9000 Command View AE suite products installed on the same host. All the
necessary information is collected by a batch process and output to an archive file.
You can collect the following files:
• Communication logs for refresh and user operations
• Trace log files
• Trace log files for installation or uninstallation
• Version information files
