5. Define the size of a LUN, in one of the following ways:
To define the size of the LUN based on the space available, select Use all available space
equally
.
To manually define the size of each LUN, select Specific size per LUN and enter the size in GB.
Note: The size of the LUNs may be restricted by the space available in the container.
6. Select one of the following block sizes for the LUN:
512 bytes
.
4096 bytes.
Caution: Not all systems can handle 4096-byte blocks. Use 512-byte blocks, if you are not sure what
type of clients will be connected to an exported LUN.
7. Make the following selections, as appropriate:
Zero-out drive space when creating
—Securely erases the drive prior to creating the new
LUNs. Zeroing-out data may take some time for large LUNs.
Online—Sets the LUNs online.
Read-only—Sets the LUNs as read-only.
8. Click OK. The specified LUNs are created in the container.
To delete a LUN, do the following:
1. Select Manage > Manage LUNs. The LUN Management page appears.
2. In the Container panel, select a container from the Container drop-down list.
3. Search for the LUN, as described in Searching, Sorting, and Performing LUN Operations on
page 42.
