Installing HP OnlineJFS 3.5 (Full License Software)

You can install the HP OnlineJFS 3.5 (Full License Software) either from the December

2003 Application Release CD-ROM or from the Software Depot.

Installing From the December 2003 Application Release CD-ROM

Step 1. Review the “Product Licensing and Purchase Information” on Page 19.

Step 2. Login as root.

Step 3. Mount the CD drive to the desired directory. The following example uses the /cdrom

directory (you can ﬁnd the CD drive device ﬁle by using the ioscan -fn -C disk

command):

mount -r /dev/dsk/clt2d0 /cdrom

Step 4. Use swinstall to install the B3929DA bundle from the CD. Note that because

B3929DA/full VxFS pulls in a set of kernel components, the autoreboot ﬂag must be

speciﬁed:

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s /cdrom B3929DA

The system will reboot after installation.

Step 5. Verify that the B3929DA bundle was installed:

swlist | grep B3929DA

This message should appear:

B3929DA 3.5-ga15 HP OnLineJFS 3.5

When you install the B3929DA bundle, the following items are included:

• HP OnlineJFS 3.5 License software

• VRTSvxfs-VERITAS File System software

• VRTSvlic-VERITAS products licensing facility

• Enhancement patch for B3929DA (PHKL_27800)

• FSDOC- HP OnlineJFS 3.5 Release Notes and Administrator’s Guide

• B3929DA online manual pages

Installing From Software Depot

Step 1. Review the “Product Licensing and Purchase Information” on Page 19.

Step 2. Login as root.

Step 3. Go to HP Software Depot http://software.hp.com.

Step 4. Select Enhancement Releases.

Step 5. Select HP OnlineJFS/JFS 3.5 from the list.
