IP address preparation worksheets
Record the following information and keep this
information available throughout the migration process
for each storage system.
In Table 5 (page 3), enter information about the
storage system before it is updated. In Table 6
(page 3), enter the information about the storage
system you will use during the update.

Shut down the management group
1. Halt all I/O to the volumes.
2. Using the iSCSI initiator, log off all the volumes
attached to this cluster.
3. Right-click the management group in the
navigation window and select Shutdown
Management Group to place the group into
Maintenance mode. The following message
opens:
4. Click Shut Down Group. A confirmation message
opens.
5. Click Shut Down Group to continue the shutdown
process.
6. Verify that all the storage systems in the
management group are powered OFF.
Installing the 10 GbE board and RAM
Have the following items ready:
• HP P4000 G2 10G BASE-SFP+ Upgrade Kit,
which includes:
◦ HP NC552SFP Dual Port 10GbE Server Adptr
◦ 2GB Reg PC2–5300 2x1GB kit
• T-10 wrench
To install the hardware
1. Loosen the screw on the top cover with the T-10
wrench.
2. Press the latch on the top cover.
3. Slide the cover toward the rear of the server and
then lift the top cover to remove it from the chassis.
Lift the top cover away from the chassis.
