HP StoreOnce B6200 Maintenance and Service Guide (February, 2014)

Figure 20 Location of bundled serial numbers
Internal network switches, rack 1 and rack 2. The bundled serial number for each pair of switches
can most easily be read underneath the lower switch.
1
Capacity upgrade enclosures (optional). The bundled serial number for each pair of JBODs in a
capacity upgrade enclosure can most easily be read on the top of the upper JBOD. This becomes
2
more difficult as you add each new pair of JBODs. HP suggests the customer keeps a record of
these serial numbers.
Couplets (both racks). The bundled serial number for the couplet can most easily be read on top of
Node B. Couplets also have a toe tag attached to each item in the couplet (the two nodes and the
two P2000 controllers).
3
Recording bundled serial numbers
At installation stickers are provided that record the bundled serial numbers for the configuration
that you have purchased. HP service engineers will add the stickers to a chart, which the customer
should store in the rack. This ensures that they can easily retrieve them, even if the serial numbers
on the hardware components themselves become obscured as more storage is added.
What is the System ID?
When redeeming licenses for replication, StoreOnce Catalyst, Security and additional storage,
Webware will ask you to provide a serial number. The number you should use is the System ID
that can be found on the Device Configuration page.
