Accessing the Management Console
The Management Console may be accessed via the GUI or the StoreOnce Command Line Interface
(CLI). The user access for both GUI and StoreOnce CLI is via the Management VIF and the same
roles apply. The Admin user has edit, create and delete access to all available functions. The
Operator user can view status and configurations but is not able to make configuration changes.
Some activities, such as power off, can only be carried out from the StoreOnce CLI.
StoreOnce GUI: To log on via the GUI, use any machine connected to the management
network. The HP StoreOnce Backup System uses a secure network connection.
Enter: https://<VIF_address>
StoreOnce CLI: StoreOnce CLI commands must be run from a SSH terminal session connected
to the master node.
ssh <username>@<VIF_address>
The user name is either Admin or Operator.
See the StoreOnce CLI Reference Guide for more information about theStoreOnce CLI
commands.
NOTE: The VIF address is the IP address that was assigned for logging on to the StoreOnce
Management Console when the system was installed.
Onsite and remote repairs
For maintenance and support tasks, you should be logged on as an Admin user.
For onsite repairs where access to the external network is restricted login to the system's internal
network VIF, 10.154.1.1
For remote repair activities you can login via the system's external Management VIF, as
described above
See also Onsite and offsite repair (page 14).
What happens during failover
Failover is when active software sessions cease to run on a node of a couplet within a cluster and
are moved and restarted on the other node within the couplet. All configured VTL devices, NAS
shares, Catalyst stores and replication become available within 15 minutes of failing on their
original node. Autonomic failover is a major feature of the HP StoreOnce B6200 Backup System.
It ensures a couplet can continue to function correctly, with some loss of performance, in the event
of a problem on one node of a couplet.
