4 Pre-requisites
Tools required
The following toolset is recommended, although the items required to complete the tasks will vary
for each installation.
Hardware tools
Torx and Phillips screwdrivers
Blank DVDs (not DVD-R) in case a QR-DVD ISO image must be loaded
Cables
CAT5E or CAT6 1Gb ethernet cable to connect to the internal network switch1.
2. RS232 DB9 serial RS232 DB9 serial cable to connect to the first rack network switch
3. RJ45 RS232 DB9 serial cable to connect to the second rack network switch
4. If your PC does not have a serial connector:
DB9 serial USB cable to connect to network switches
A suitable software driver is required for this cable
5. Type B miniUSB to Type A standard USB cable to connect to the CLI of the P2000 controller
A software driver is required for this cable. Search on any well known search engine for
P2000 MSA USB driver (add x86 or x64, or whatever is appropriate for your machine,
to the end of the search string to identify the correct driver)
6. A VGA monitor and keyboard is also useful, if the customer can provide access to one
Software tools
Onsite repairs only: A laptop is required for configuration tasks with DHCP client enabled;
puTTY (or other ssh terminal program); and winscp (or another sftp transfer program)
installed on the laptop.
NOTE: If not already installed, puTTY and winscp can easily be downloaded from the
web.

Onsite troubleshooting and repair
When performing troubleshooting onsite that requires access to the cluster's StoreOnce CLI or GUI,
you may not be allowed to plug in your laptop to the customer network.
In this case, under the supervision of HP service specialists, you can connect to the system's internal
network, as follows:
