HP StoreOnce Backup System CLI Reference Guide

Objects
An object represents an item associated with a StoreOnce appliance. It may be a physical item,
such as a network interface, or a virtual item, such as a virtual tape cartridge. Objects must be
uniquely labeled. To achieve this requirement, when most objects are created the label of the object
is automatically generated by the CLI application using the following convention:
DescriptionObject Label
Storage array where X is a unique index. The arrays are defined by the auto-configuration
process.
ARRAYX
Virtual cartridge where X is a unique index .CARTX
CIFS share where X is a unique index.CIFSX
Virtual library tape drive where X is a unique index.DRVX
Client of an NFS share where X is a unique index.HOSTX
Network configure where X is a unique index.NETX
NFS share where X is a unique index.NFSX
Server node where X is a unique index. The server nodes are defined by the auto-configuration
process.
NODEX
NTP time server where X is a unique index.NTPX
FC port where X is a unique index. The ports are defined by the auto-configuration process
and configured with default parameters.
PORTX
Service set where X is a unique index. The service sets are defined by the auto-config process.SETX
The associate between CIFS or NFS shares for replication between two StoreOnce appliances
where X is a unique index.
SHRMAPX
The associate between virtual libraries for replication between two StoreOnce appliances
where X is a unique index.
SLOTMAPX
Switch where X is a unique index. The switches are defined by the auto-configuration process.SWITCHX
StoreOnce appliance which has been granted the privilege to replicate data. X is a unique
index.
SRCX
Trap host where X is a unique identifier.TRAPX
StoreOnce to which replication of data will occur. X is a unique index.TRGTX
Support ticket where X is a unique identifier.TICKETX
User of a CIFS share where X is a unique index.USERX
Virtual library where X is a unique index.VTLX
Window for a given service set during which the housekeeping functions cannot be performed.
X is an index which uniquely defines the window within a give service set.
WINX
Once created, the unique label of an object is used to represent that object in a command entry.
If an object is deleted, the label originally used for the deleted object may be used for a newly
created object. For example, assume three virtual tape cartridges are created with labels CART1,
CART2, and CART3. If virtual tape cartridge CART1 is deleted, the next virtual tape cartridge
created can be labeled CART1. The index used in label generation simply guarantees object name
uniqueness and provides no other information.
