Probable Cause
Indicates that the specified fan speed (in RPM) has fallen below the minimum threshold. This problem can
quickly cause the switch to overheat. This message is specific to nonbladed switches and is not applicable
to the Core Switch 2/64, SAN Director 2/128, or 4/256 SAN Director.
Recommended Action
Run the tempShow command to verify that the switch temperatures are within operational range. Refer to
the hardware reference manual for the temperature range of your switch.
Run the fanShow command to monitor the speed of the fan generating this error.
For the 4/8 SAN Switch, 4/16 SAN Switch, SAN Switch 2/8V, SAN Switch 2/16V, if the fan problem is
causing temperature problems on the switch, you must replace the entire switch.
For the SAN Switch 2/32 and SAN Switch 4/32, if the fan problem is causing temperature problems on
the switch, replace the fan FRU.

Run the fanShow command to verify that the fan is faulty.
For the SAN Switch 2/32 and SAN Switch 4/32, replace the fan FRU.
For the 4/8 SAN Switch, 4/16 SAN Switch, SAN Switch 2/8V and SAN Switch 2/16V, the entire switch
must be replaced, because these switches do not have FRUs.
