Planning for installation
Before you install your HP ProLiant Storage Server, you need to make a few decisions.
Determ
ining a network a ccess method
Before
beginning setup and startup procedures, decide upon a n ac cess method to conne ct to the storage
server
. The type of network access you select is determined by whether or not the network has a Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. If the network has a DHCP server, you can access the storage
server through the direct attachment, remote browser, Remote Desktop, or iLO 2 methods. If your network
does not have a DHCP server, you must access the storage server throu gh the direct attachment method.
NOTE:
The di
rect attachment method requires a display, keyboard, and mouse.
