My image is
too bright.
The flash
provided too
much light.
Use the Flash Off setting (see
Using the flash on page 30).
You were too
close to the
subject to use
the flash.
Move back from the subject or set
the flash to Flash Off and take the
picture again.
A natural or
artificial source
other than the
flash provided
too much light.
Try taking the picture from a
different angle. Avoid pointing
the camera directly toward a
bright light or reflective surface on
a sunny day. Use the Flash On
setting (see page 30) or adjust
the Exposure Compensation (see
page 38).
The scene had
many dark
objects, such as
a black dog on
a black couch.
Decrease the Exposure
Compensation (see page 38) so
the dark objects in the scene will
not look âwashed-outâ.
