11.5 HP StoreVirtual Storage Release Notes
• When upgrading from Version 8.5 to 10.5 using the 11.x CMC, a benign error message is no
longer displayed. Previously, the error message did not prevent the upgrade from completing
successfully, but it could not be removed while the upgrade was in progress.
• When adding a new disk to the StoreVirtual VSA using the VMware® vCenter™ hot add feature,
that disk now appears in the CMC without having to log out and log in again.
• Implemented the following security fixes:
◦ The use of inappropriate commands through the CLI utility command is now prevented.
◦ A potential Denial of Service attack is eliminated.
◦ Full-access privileges that were enabled for read-only Active Directory users in certain situations
has been removed.
Version 11.0
• An issue is fixed whereby snapshot schedules were becoming backlogged when some deleting
snapshots got stuck and did not finish deletion. This issue may have impacted iSCSI sessions and
data migration. Patch 35012-00 fixes this issue.
• The permanent StoreVirtual license will no longer be changed from permanent to temporary on
StoreVirtual 4x30 platforms running LeftHand OS 10.5. This issue is resolved in Patch 40007.
• Improvements to the overall design of Application Aware Snapshot Manager fixed an issue that
prevented the use of application-managed snapshots after upgrading to LeftHand OS 10.5 and
VMware vSphere 5.1. Previously either of the following error messages would display after
upgrading to versions 10.5 and 5.1, respectively:
Cannot complete login due to incorrect username or password
OR
InitializeSecurityContext() failed.
• When editing the settings of the 10 GigE Emulex NIC, the following error message no longer
displays:
Cannot change speed, duplex, NIC flow control, or frame size because
this storage system does not provide support for those settings
• The use of non-standard HTTP/HTTPS ports in VMware vCenter is now supported to enable
application-managed snapshots to be taken.
• Changed the maximum duration for exporting performance data from the CMC from 999 hours
(approximately 41 days) to 336 hours (approximately 14 days) to prevent timeout errors.
• After changing the 10 GbE NIC setting to 10000 mbps/Full duplex, the setting is now retained
after a storage system reboot or restart.
• Fixed an issue in which excessive memory utilization was observed when new storage systems
were added to an existing management group. Due to network configuration issues, the existing
managers in the group could not reach the new storage that resulted in excessive memory
utilization.
• Fixed an issue that prevented the system from correctly retaining manual network speed settings
through reboots.
• To enhance security of the LeftHand OS software, the software has been revised to verify that x11
port forwarding is disabled and to disable ciphers that support less than 128-bit cipher strength.
• Improved CLI performance when using commands like getClusterInfo, getGroupInfo, and
getVolumeInfo in a management group with a large number of iSCSI sessions. This performance
improvement should prevent timeouts that have been observed when running applications like
Veeam Backup and Replication software against volumes and snapshots in such a configuration.
