Since the Microsoft™ iSCSI Initiator Installer updates only needed files with
each version installed, you will need to locate the highest build number in the
list of file versions, and then use the table below to determine the iSCSI
version. A reliable file to inspect is the msiscsi.sys file.
We can see from the above example that the highest file version build number
is .3099, so the iSCSI version being used is 2.03.
Note: Any time the iSCSI initiator is reinstalled or upgraded, the
MaxRequestHoldTime value may revert to its default value of 60
seconds. Always reconfirm this setting after reinstalling or upgrading
the initiator. See section 8 for details.
