Adding a Fibre Channel server connection
1. In the navigation window, log in to the management group.
2. Click Management Group Tasks, and select New Server.
3. If this server is only used for Fibre Channel connectivity, clear Allow access via iSCSI.
NOTE: If you want to leave iSCSI access allowed, you must add the initiator node name to
the iSCSI tab.
4. Click the Fibre Channel tab.
5. Enter a name and optional description for the server connection.
6. If you are taking application-managed snapshots, enter the Controlling Server IP Address.
7. Select the port names to assign to the server from the Unassigned Initiator WWPN list.
NOTE: Use the ports from the Fibre Channel host initiator. You should only use the ports
from the same initiator.
8. Click Assign.
9. Repeat these steps for all the port names you want to assign to this server.
10. Click OK when you are finished.
Manually configuring a Fibre Channel initiator
If the initiator for which you are creating the server connection is not logged in to the fabric, and
you know the WWPN, then you can manually add that initiator.
1. In the navigation window, log in to the management group.
2. Click Management Group Tasks, and select New Server.
3. In the New Server window on the iSCSI tab, clear Allow access via iSCSI.
4. Click the Fibre Channel tab.
5. Enter a name and optional description for the server connection.
6. If you are taking application-managed snapshots, enter the Controlling Server IP Address.
7. Click Manually Configure Initiator.
8. Enter the initiator WWPN in the dialog box, and click Save to add the WWPN to the list of
unassigned WWPNs.
9. Select this WWPN in the Unassigned Initiator list and click Assign.
10. Click OK when you are finished.
Deleting a manually configured Fibre Channel initiator
You can delete a manually configured Fibre Channel initiator from either the unassigned or assigned
initiator list.
1. In the navigation window, select the Fibre Channel server connection you want to edit.
2. Click the Details tab.
3. Click Server Tasks, and select Edit Server.
4. Select the manually configured initiator WWPN from the list. The Delete button becomes
enabled.
5. Click Delete, and then click OK to confirm.
6. Click OK when you are finished.
