software for each supported operating system. It also provides information on font support and system
modifications.
Windows 3.1x
Printer support
• The PostScript emulation driver will support the HP LaserJet 8150 printer, but only on a
standalone version of Windows 3.1x. Other PostScript printers can be supported with
additional PPDs.
• The PCL 6and PCL 5e drivers support HP LaserJet 8150 Series printers.
To install printer drivers on Windows 3.1x
Windows 3.1x is not supported by the CD Browser and Printing System Installer for the HP
LaserJet 8150. Printing from Windows 3.1x is supported with the PCL 5e and PCL 6 drivers for
the HP LaserJet 8100, and with the PS driver. To install these drivers, you must use the Add
Printer function in the Windows 3.1x Control Panel:
1. Insert the HP LaserJet 8150 Printing System Installer CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
2. From the Control Panel, double-click the Printers icon.
3. Click Add.
4. Choose the Install from Vendor Disk option from the list of available printers to install,
then click Install.
5. Browse to the directory on the CD-ROM that contains the drivers for the appropriate
language. For English, the path is X:\ENGLISH\DRIVERS\WIN3X\, where 'X' represents
the letter designating your CD-ROM drive.
6. Click OK. The drivers will be copied to your hard disk and added to the list of installed
printers.
