NOTE:
You can upgrade WEBES without clearing the error log. However, the initial scan of event data may
take longer if the log is not cleared first.

Upgrading WEBES
This procedure applies when upgrading to WEBES 5.0 from an existing version of WEBES that is within
two versions of 5.0. For example, WEBES 5.0 can be upgraded when either version 4.5 or 4.4.4 is
installed, but not if version 4.4.3 or earlier is installed. If an upgrade is attempted on a version of WEBES
that is too old, you will be told to uninstall the existing version, and the upgrade will not proceed.
If WEBES is already uninstalled or was never installed, see the WEBES Installation Guide.
Upgra
ding lets you preserve your configuration and state data. Be aware that upgrading uninstalls the
olde
r version of WEBES and installs the n ewer version. The upgrade does not patch or replace certain
files
,aswasthecasewithWEBESServicePacks.
Whenever a version of W EB ES is already installed that is capable of being upgraded, the W EBES kit
inform s you that the older version was detected and prompts you about upgrading.
1. Double-click the WEBES kit file to open the kit.
