7.4 Connect the F
ibre Channel cable

Reconnect the end of the FC cable that you disconnected from the old
tape drive to the port A FC connector on the new tape drive. The FC
cable s hould click into place. Verify that the other end of the FC cable
is connected to its corresponding port on the SAN.
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging FC cables, do not pinch or bend the cables
sharper than a 5 cm (2 inch) diameter.
7.5 Connect the Ethernet cable

1) Connect the end of the Ethernet cable that you disconnected from
the old tape drive to the MGMT port of the new tape drive. 2) Verify
that the other end of the Ethernet cable is connected to the internal
network switch installed in the library. Do not connect the MGMT port
or internal network switch to the public or site LAN.

Close the back doors of the library.
7. 8 U p g r a d e t h e d r i v e rmwar e
Ensure that the tape drive has the latest rmware for correct operation.
If necessary, upgrade the drive rmware using the Command View
TL rmware upgrade wizard or the Interface Manager’s Command
Line Interface. See the HP StorageWorks Interface Ma nager and
Command View TL User’s Guide for detailed procedures on upgrading
drive rmware.
