HP StorageWorks Clustered File System 3.6.1 Windows Storage Server Edition administration guide (AG515 - 96007, August 2008)

Chapter 15: Performance Monitoring 198
% Paging File Usage
The percent usage of the paging file in the server. If the counter approaches 90
percent, consider resizing the paging file to accommodate system needs.
•CIFS Server Bytes/sec
The total Bytes of data the server is sending and receiving from the network.
This counter relates strictly to the Server service and is a measure of how busy
the server is.
CIFS Server Sessions
The total number of active sessions on the server.
•CIFS Server Files Open
The total number of files currently open on the server.
Volume Counters
The volume counters provided for the Microsoft Windows perfmon
utility are as follows:
Disk Bytes/sec
The number of bytes per second the system is sending to or receiving
from (logical) disk for read or write operations.
Disk Transfers/sec
The number of transfers per second the system is sending to or
receiving from (logical) disk for read and write operations.

Best Practice–Disable Automatic Reloading of
Performance Counter Strings
The Performance Dashboard includes a feature that reloads the
performance counter strings when the cluster configuration changes (for
example, during node addition/removal or filesystem create/destroy
operations). HP highly recommends that this feature be turned off after
the cluster configuration has stabilized to avoid stressing the Windows
Performance Monitoring subsystem when there are many cluster state
