How can I access HP Instant Printing?
Open HP Instant Printing from your desktop icon.
Which file formats does HP Instant Printing support?
The Printing Tool supports the following file formats:
PLT, HP-GL/2, JPG,* TIFF,** PDF,*** (single and multiple pages), and PPT/PPTX**** (PowerPoint
2003 or later, if you have the corresponding version of Microsoft® PowerPoint® installed)
*JPEG 8-bit RGB files without ICC profiles (but not JPEG2000)
**TIFF 1-bit, 8-bit, or 24-bit RGB files without ICC profiles
***PDF version 1.9 or earlier
**** Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2013 is not supported. However, if Microsoft® PowerPoint® 2010 is
installed on the system, files generated by 2013 version can be printed.
What are the limitations on a PDF sent through HP Instant Printing?
The Printing Tool puts a limit on the conversion of protected PDF files.
At 600 dpi, the maximum print length is 1.3 meters.
At 300 dpi, the maximum print length increases to 2.7 meters.
NOTE: If you try to print a protected PDF that exceeds the maximum length, a warning icon will appear,
and the file will not print. To print the file, remove file protection when generating the PDF or use the
printer driver, which does not limit the length of the print.
The Printing Tool does not support encrypted PDFs, and it displays these files as nonprintable.
NOTE: If you try to print an encrypted PDF with a certificate or a password, the file will not print and a
warning icon will appear next to the plot in the Printing Tool. The Signed PDF will then open in HP
Instant Printing and be printed as a normal PDF without the signature.
