HP 3PAR Policy Server Administrator's Guide (QR483-96003, December 2012)
HP 3PAR Policy Server 2-13
Asterisks (****) in the Password fields hide the password you entered, as shown in the following
figure:
8. For this user to receive notifications from Policy Server regarding asset groups assigned to the user,
type the E-mail Address for the user. If more than one address is needed, separate the addresses
with a comma. Use the e-mail address format, username@company.com.
9. If desired, type the Phone Number and Fax Number for the user. These fields accept numbers and
hyphens.
10. If the user should be an Administrator of Policy Server and the directory server, select the Is
Administrator check box. When you select this option, the Assigned Roles do not apply to the user
because the user has all privileges to all components of the Policy Server application.
11. If you did NOT select the Is Administrator check box, then under Assigned Roles, select the roles
you want to assign to this user.
12. When ready, click Save to add the user and close the User Modification window. To close the
window without adding the user, click Cancel.
13. Repeat steps 3 through 12 for each user that you want to add.
Once you have configured the profiles, roles, and users for Policy Server, you are ready to configure asset
groups and policies.
Tip for Searching for Users
When searching for users, keep in mind that the Filters for a search are OR'd and not AND'd. Users are not
directly assigned to a profile. The relationship between profiles and users is transitive because profiles are
assigned to roles and roles are assigned to users. The filter is a convenience to show users assigned to a
profile by name since a profile could be assigned to multiple roles.
