Installation instructions
Use HP Library & Tape Tools (L&TT) to update the tape drive firmware. You can download L&TT from
http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools. Most versions of L&TT have the ability to obtain new firmware
from the utility itself.
For installation instructions for the L&TT utility and firmware update instructions, click on the
Documentation link under Support, Drivers, and Manuals. Online help is also included with the utility.
If your version of LT&T does not have this functionality, use the following procedure to find and download
your firmware package:
1. Go to http://www.hp.com.
2. Select Support and Drivers from the top of the page.
3. Select Drivers and Downloads.
4. In the Find by Product box, enter your product number, or full product name if you do not have
the number.
5. Select your product, and you will be directed to the Download Drivers and Software page for
your product.
6. Select your operating system, and on the following page you will find firmware download links.
7. Select your desired firmware and click the Download button to begin the download.
NOTE: Once the firmware update has started, do NOT power off the unit or interrupt the firmware
update process until it is complete. Doing so could leave the tape drive in a non-usable state.
