ColorSpan Legacy Solvent Printer Ink Usage 1
Introduction The printers in the ColorSpan Legacy family of solvent ink printers (DisplayMaker 72S, 72SR, 98SX, 72 & 98SI) each consume ink in all of the following activities: • • • • • Printing jobs sent from a software RIP Printing offline jobs, such as printer calibration patterns, prime bars, etc.
When the printer has been capped—for any length of time—you can reduce the number of Purge-n-Wipes needed to recover the jets by performing a manual wipe first. Without the manual wiping, several Purge-n-Wipes may be needed before jetting is fully restored. With a manual wipe, only one or two Purge-n-Wipes are typically necessary. Page 5-8 of the printer’s User Guide gives instructions on how to perform a manual wipe of the heads.
