Environmental product stewardship program
Protecting the environment
Hewlett-Packard Company is committed to providing quality products
in an environmentally sound manner. This HP LaserJet printer has
been designed with several attributes to minimize impacts on our
environment.
This HP LaserJet printer design eliminates:
Ozone Emissions—This product has been designed to minimize
ozone emissions and avoid the need for an ozone filter.
CFC Usage—Class I U.S. Clean Air Act stratospheric ozone-
depleting chemicals (chlorofluorocarbons [CFCs], for example)
have been eliminated from the manufacturing sites that produce
this printer. This practice coincides with the 1987 “Montreal
Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer” and its
subsequent amendments. CFCs are not used in manufacturing of
the packaging.
This HP LaserJet printer design reduces:
Energy Consumption—Energy usage drops significantly from
printing mode to PowerSave mode.
Paper Use—The printer’s optional duplex printing accessory
provides two-sided printing, reducing paper usage and the
resulting demands on natural resources.
The design of this HP LaserJet printer facilitates the
recycling of:
Plastics—Major plastic parts have markings that enhance the
ability to identify plastics for recycling purposes at the end of the
printer’s life.
HP Toner Cartridges/Photoconductive Drum—In many
countries, this product’s toner cartridge/drum can be returned to
HP at the end of its useful life. A prepaid shipping label and
instructions on how to return the toner cartridge/drum are
included with the replacement toner cartridge/drum. If your
country is not listed in the replacement’s brochure, call your local
HP Sales and Service Office for further instructions.
