Repetitive defects on transparencies
Unwanted marks of the same size and shape appear in the same
vertical area on most pages. Print out a configuration page to
verify the remaining life of the imaging drum. If the printer control
panel displays
DRUM LIFE OUT REPLACE KIT, replace the
imaging drum.
Unwanted marks of the same size and shape appear more than
once in the same vertical area on transparencies or glossy media
only. The fuser roller is damaged or the fuser is beyond its useful
life. Print out a configuration page to verify the remaining life of
the fuser. If the printer control panel displays
FUSER LIFE OUT
REPLACE KIT
, replace the fuser.
Repetitive defects appear only in one color. Check the
corresponding toner cartridge.
Streaking or smudges on transparencies
The printer recently jammed. Print 5 to 10 pages to clean the
printer.
You recently changed to a different media size. Print 5 to 10
pages to clean the printer.
You are using transparencies that do not meet the media
specifications for this printer. Use only transparencies that meet
the media specifications for this printer (see page 67
).
The imaging drum has exceeded its useful life. Print out a
configuration page to verify the remaining life of the imaging
drum. If the printer control panel displays
DRUM LIFE OUT
REPLACE KIT
, replace the imaging drum.
