155. Lightly scuff the area of the windows where they contact the
wooden structure. Use canopy glue to glue the windows in
the fuselage and top hatch from the inside. Use low-tack tape
to hold the windows in place until the adhesive fully cures.
COWLING INSTALLATION
157. Cut a 25mm wide piece of card stock. Make a 3mm hole in
one end. Slide an M3 x 10 button head screw through the
hole, then thread it into the blind nut in the fuselage. Use low
tack tape to hold the card stock in position and remove the
screw.
159. Slide the cowling in place, guiding the card stock to the
outside of the cowl.
156. Test fi t the windshield to the fuselage. Mark the fuselage
where the windshield comes in contact. Scuff both the
windshield and fuselage where they meet and clean the area
using isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel to remove oils and
debris. Glue the windshield to the fuselage using canopy glue.
Use low tack tape to hold the windshield in place until the
adhesive fully cures.
158. Repeat the previous step until all the mounting holes are
marked.
160. Fit the propeller and spinner back plate to the engine. Position
the cowl so there is an equal gap of 3mm between the cowl
and spinner. Also make sure the spinner is centered at the
front. Use low tack tape to hold the cowl in position.
161. Mark the locations of the mounting screws on the cowl using
a felt-tipped pen.
