Installation MOUNTING OPTIONS NOTE: You may need a longer downrod to maintain proper blade clearance when installing on a steep, sloped ceiling. The maximum angle allowable is 20° away from horizontal. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount the fan to an outlet box marked “Acceptable for fan support of 35 lbs (15.9 kg) or less” and use the screws provided with the outlet box.
Assembly - Standard Ceiling Mount 1 Preparation for standard mounting NOTE: The magnet is pre-attached on the canopy bottom cover (HH) for you to remove and install easily. 2 Attaching the blades to the blade arms ☐ Attach a blade (G) to the blade arm (F) by aligning the holes on the blade decorative nut (GG) with the holes on blades (G) and blade arms (F), inserting the screws (FF) into the holes in the decorative nut (GG) and through the blade (G) and blade arm (F).
Assembly - Standard Ceiling Mount (continued) 4 5 Routing the wires ☐ Route the wires exiting the top of the fan motor assembly (E) through the decorative motor collar cover (D) and then the center of the canopy bottom cover (HH). ☐ Make sure the opening of the canopy (C) is on top and insert the ball/downrod (B) through the canopy (C). ☐ Route the wires exiting the top of the fan motor assembly (E) through the downrod as shown.
Assembly - Hanging the Fan 1 2 Attaching the fan to the electrical box WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or other personal injury, mount the fan to an outlet box or supporting system marked “Acceptable for fan support of 35 lbs (15.9kg) or less” and use the mounting screws provided with the outlet box. Hanging the fan ☐ Carefully lift the fan-motor assembly (E) up to the slideon mounting bracket (A).
Assembly - Hanging the Fan (continued) 3 Making the electrical connections WARNING: Each wire nut supplied with this fan is designed to accept up to one 12-gauge house wire and two wires from the fan. If you have larger than 12-gauge house wiring or more than one house wire to connect to the fan wiring, consult an electrician for the proper size wire nuts to use. Outlet box in the ceiling(NN) Black IMPORTANT: Use the plastic wire connectors (AA) supplied with your fan.
Assembly - Hanging the Fan (continued) 4 5 Wrapping the extra wire Mounting the fan-motor assembly (standard mount) WARNING: When using the standard ball/downrod mounting, the tab in the ring at the bottom of the mounting bracket must rest in the groove of the hanger ball. Failure to properly seat the tab in the groove could cause damage to the wiring. NOTE: Follow this step ONLY if you did not cut the extra length off from the wires coming from the ceiling fan.
Assembly - Attaching the Light Kit 1 Installing the light kit pan IMPORTANT: It is critical to attach the light kit pan (H) using the quick connector. The fan will not operate unless the light kit pan is connected to the fan. ☐ Remove one screw (PP) from the black bracket below the fan motor assembly (E), and loosen but do not remove the other two screws. ☐ Push the 9-pin connectors of the motor assembly through the hole of the light kit pan (H).
Assembly - Attaching the Light Kit (continued) 3 Installing the bulb and the glass shade assembly CAUTION: Make sure the power is off before attaching or removing the glass shade assembly. H WARNING: Allow the glass shade assembly to cool completely before removing. J ☐ With power off, install the light bulb (J) by screwing it into the light bulb socket.
Operating Your Fan A. Warm weather Turn on the power and check the operation of the fan. The fan pull chain controls the fan speed as follows: 1 pull - High; 2 pulls - Medium, 3 pulls - Low, 4 pulls - Off. Speed setting for warm or cool weather depends on factors such as the room size, ceiling height, number of fans and so on. The fan is shipped from the factory with the reversing switch (YY) positioned to circulate air downward.
Care and Cleaning WARNING: Make sure the power is off before cleaning your fan. ☐ Because of the fan’s natural movement, some connections may become loose. Check the support connections, brackets, and blade attachments twice a year. Make sure they are secure. It is not necessary to remove the fan from the ceiling. ☐ Clean your fan periodically to help maintain its new appearance over the years.
