PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
H&C™ CLEARPROTECT™ High-Performance Industrial Clear
Sealer is a high-solids, single-component, aliphatic, moisture-
cure urethane floor coating that cures to a high-gloss,
chemical-resistant film equivalent in performance to two-part
urethane coatings.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
Highly resistant to alkalies, dilute acids, solvents, chemicals,
jet fuel, and grease.
High-gloss formula resists yellowing, impact and abrasion.
Formulated for easy brush and roller application.
Meets ADA requirements for slip-resistance of floors.
RECOMMENDED USES
H&C CLEARPROTECT High-Performance Industrial Clear Sealer
can be used to protect and enhance bare or previously coated
interior or exterior concrete floors. It is ideal for commercial
applications requiring a heavy-duty, chemical-resistant finish
and may be used as a protective clear coat over H&C®
INFUSION® Reactive Stains, Acetone Dye Stains and Semi-
Transparent Decorative Stains. Applications include schools,
warehouses, retail facilities, airport hangars and garage floors.
Interior and exterior use.
COVERAGE RATES
Substrate sq ft/gal
Smooth-troweled concrete floors 330-500
Previously stained surfaces 200-300
NOTE: Coverage will vary depending on porosity and texture of substrate.
JOBSITE TEST SECTION
Due to the wide variety of substrates, preparation methods,
application methods and environments, it is important to
create a test sample. H&C CLEARPROTECT High-Performance
Industrial Clear Sealer may not be compatible over other
coatings and decorative concrete finishes.
LIMITATIONS
Do not use as a topcoat over any H&C clear or solid-
color sealers and stains. Mechanically abrade the surface
if recoating after 14 days.
TOOLS REQUIRED
BrushUse natural bristle brushes
Roller—Use a 1/4” - 3/8" nap woven or other solvent-
resistant cover.
SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, paint
and sealers.* To remove light soil from the surface, use H&C®
CONCRETEREADY® Cleaner Degreaser mixed to a 50/50 ratio
with water. To remove heavy oil and grease stains, use the
cleaner full strength. If mold, mildew or fungus is present, kill
and remove with a solution of 1 part household bleach to 3
parts water.
Bare Concrete: Allow new concrete to cure at least 28 days.
Concrete surfaces should be able to absorb water. To test
absorption, spray various sections of the surface to be stained
with water. If the water does not absorb rapidly, then acid
etch the surface using H&C CONCRETEREADY Etching Solution,
following label instructions. After proper etching, the surface
should feel like 120-grit sandpaper. If not, then etch again.
Mechanical abrasion methods may be necessary to achieve
proper profile. Reference surface prep standard SSPC-SP13/
NACE 6, or ICRI No. 310 2R, CSP 1-3. Do not apply the sealer
until all surfaces are porous. Prepared concrete must have a
pH of 6 to 10.
Previously Stained or Sealed Concrete: Not Recommended.
*WARNING: Removal of old paint by sanding, scraping or other means may
generate dust or fumes that contain lead. To avoid exposure to lead dust,
wear proper protective equipment, such as a properly fitted respirator (NIOSH
approved) and follow proper containment and cleanup procedures. For more
information, call the National Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD (in
U.S.) or contact your local health authority.
