Powerful In order to guarantee this protection over a long period of time, we request that you only use dust bags with Microban technology. If you do not want to use dust bags with integrated Microban® hygiene protection, you can also use type Y 50 dust bags from Swirl for the VCC 9851.
OVERVIEW________________________________ What is Microban®? HEPA filter Microban® is odourless, colourless and tasteless. HEPA stands for Highly Efficient Particulate Air. HEPA filters are highly efficient particulate air filters which trap over 99.9% of all airborne dust particles larger than 0.1 to 0.3 micrometres. Viruses, respirable dust, dust mite larvae and deposits, pollen, smoke particles, asbestos, bacteria, various toxic dust and aerosols are trapped in the filter.

INDIVIDUAL PARTS________________________ Flexible hose The flexible hose J is the connection between the appliance and the extendable suction tube. 1 Insert the flexible hose with the flexible contact Q into the suction intake I on the appliance until it latches in. 2 Insert the other end (handle) of the flexible hose into the extendable suction tube N . Multi-level extendable suction tube Note 7 The nozzle can also be inserted into the upper end (handle) of the flexible hose J .
PREPARATION_____________________________ Check if the mains voltage on the type plate (on the bottom of the appliance) corresponds to your local mains supply. Assembly Your appliance is supplied with a dust bag. Once you have assembled the individual parts, the appliance is ready to operate. 1 Insert the flexible hose with the flexible contact Q into the suction intake I on the appliance until it latches in. 2 Insert the other end (handle) of the flexible hose into the extendable suction tube N .
OPERATION_______________________________ Switching on and off Suction control 1 Pull out the power cord to the length you require. Caution 7 A yellow mark appears at the end of the cord. The maximum cable length is shown by a red mark. Never attempt to pull out the cord beyond the red mark. A suction control is located on the handle K , which you can operate with your thumb. If the control L is fully closed, the maximum suction power is reached. 2 Plug the power cord into the wall socket.
OPERATION_______________________________ Moving the appliance Retracting the power cord The appliance can also be carried with the handle E . Caution 7 Before moving the appliance to another room, always disconnect the power cord. 1 Disconnect the power cord from the wall socket. 2 Hold the power cord in one hand and press and hold down the C button. 3 Guide the power cord carefully into the appliance.
CLEANING AND CARE_____________________ Changing the dust bag 1 Disconnect the power cord from the wall socket. 2 Open the dust housing by pressing down on the catch P of the dust housing and then lift up the cover. 7 Close the cover of the dust housing. Note 7 Check, whether the appliance works after changing the dust bag. If the suction power is still inadequate, accessories tubes or filter could be blocked (see the following section).
CLEANING AND CARE_____________________ 4 Remove the filter from the holder. The air outlet blower (exhaust filter) 1 Open the air outlet grille by pressing down on the catch. 5 Shake the filter vigorously, then clean it in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and leave it to dry. Caution 7 Never put the filter in the washing machine or dry it with a hair dryer. 7 2 Firstly, remove the grille of the HEPA filter. Ensure the filter is completely dry before refitting it.
CLEANING AND CARE_____________________ 4 Shake both filters vigorously, then clean in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and leave it to dry. Caution 7 Never put the filters in the washing machine or dry with a hair dryer. 7 In the horizontal position, store the brush in the holder B on the back of the appliance. Ensure both filters are completely dry before refitting them. Notes 7 The motor protective filter should be replaced every six months, or sooner if necessary.
