▪ Waterproong Membrane is Required for Shower Stalls
▪ Polymer Modied Glass Tile Mortar is Highly Recommended for
Shower Installaons – Ensure Glass Tile Mortar is Compable with
Waterproong Membrane.
▪ Uncoupling waterproof membranes require a specic mortar to set
the membrane in place.
▪ Expansion joints are important for showers with glass le. There
must be a clean, straight, open joint at all changes in plane which
include inside corners, oor to wall, wall to ceiling, and columns.
▪ 100% Silicone sealant rated for adherence to glass le is
recommended to ll expansion joints or changes in surface plane.
▪ Sealing the non-sanded le grout helps repel moisture and dirt for
easier cleaning and maintenance.

• Backsplashes generally have less requirements for a successful
installaon, compared to shower installaons.
• Plan your le layout and consider the cuts required to negoate outlets
and other xtures.
• Tiles can be installed on to painted dry wall; the glass le mortar can
penetrate the paint.
• Tiles can be installed onto unpainted drywall; it is recommended to use
a dry wall primer and allow 48 hours of cure me.
• Ensure the backsplash surface is uniform and free of dirt or residue
before beginning the installaon.
• Set the boom row of le rst, so the row below is supporng the row
of le above during the seng process – 2 spacers separang each le.
• Grout sealing is also recommended for backsplashes.
• Tile edges can be nished using a variety of Pencil Liners, Quarter
Round, and Schluter Trim of the same thickness.
