Use and Care Guide

For a C1 enclosure (1.6L-25kW, 1.6L-30kW, 2.4L-22kW or
2.4L-27kW):
1. Identify the mounting location for the wireless transmitter on the side
of the generator facing the building. If this location is on the end of
the generator, then continue with step 2 of the instructions for a C2
enclosure. If the location is on either side (on a door), then continue
with the steps below.
2. Install the wireless transmitter per the instructions outlined in the
Remote Owner’s Manual (this is the same as for the air-cooled home
standby). The harness included with the Wireless Remote Kit will not
be used. Instead, continue with the steps below.
3. Mount the bracket included with the Harness Kit to the side of the
connection box (compartment with main breaker) facing the engine.
4. The 1.5-foot long harness will have a 6-way connector that has two
ears with posts for insertion into the bracket holes. Insert this con-
nector into the bracket with the connector sockets facing the door
with the wireless transmitter.
5. Route the 1.5-foot long harness from the bracket to the appropriate
location on the control:
a. For kit 5958-0, the remaining end goes to the mating connector in
the engine harness located just behind the control panel. This mat-
ing connector may have a “dead plug” in it to protect the connection
pins – the “dead plug” should be removed and discarded.
