batteries. Alkaline batteries can rupture
at high temperatures. Alkaline batteries
lose a signicant amount of their
capacity as temperature decreases. Use
lithium batteries when operating the
device in below-freezing conditions.

Long-Term Storage
When you do not plan to use the
device for several months, remove the
batteries. Stored data is not lost when
batteries are removed.

Using Optional Fitness
Accessories
: The tness option is available
only with the GPSMAP 62s and
GPSMAP 62st.
Before you can use the tness
accessory with your device, you must
install the accessory according to the
instructions that are included with the
accessory.
You can use optional tness accessories
including a heart rate monitor or a
cadence sensor with your device.
