New asphalt/blacktop driveways - Wait at least 6 months (including one full
summer season) prior to sealing to allow it to allow the driveway to fully cure and
weather.
Concrete sidewalk and brick pavers Gardner asphalt driveway sealers are meant
only for blacktop/asphalt surfaces, not for concrete or brick. To minimize the chance of
get
ting asphalt sealer on non-asphalt surfaces, mask with tape/plastic sheeting or a
dr
op cloth along affected edges. Clean up drips with a heavy-duty citrus based cleaner.
App
ly two thin coats Two thinner coats will dry more evenly, creating a much better
finished appearance than one thick coat. Single thick coats cure less evenly, have a
tendency to puddle, and are more prone to tracking.
When to apply the second coat - We recommend waiting 4-12 hours, until the first
coat is fully dry and cured. In optimal conditions, if the driveway is sealed early in the
morning and the entire driveway is in full sun and is fully dry, you may apply a second
coat the same day
