STAPLES MADE IN USA MADE IN THE USA NOTES Originally known as Palmer Staples in DePere, WI, founded by Dick Palmer in the late 1950’s. Palmer would then go on to invent the insulated plastic staple that is still used today. In 1986 Bud Thoen sold Douglas Machine and retained Palmer Industries as a separate business. Products were then produced and distributed under the ‘Palmer’ Brand. In 1993 Palmer Industries was sold to Gardner Bender, GB co-branded the staples as GB and Palmer.
