Exteria Building Products, LLC- Limited Lifetime Transferable Warranty
Exteria Building Products is committed and pleased to provide you with high quality faux cedar
and masonry products. These products are manufactured in accordance with high standards and
tight quality controls, as outlined below.
What Is Covered
Subject to the limitations described below, Exteria warrants that its’ Exterior Cladding Products
installed in the United States and Canada are free from manufacturing defects when subjected to
the normal and proper usage and exposure conditions. Warranted defects include blistering,
peeling, flaking, corroding and fading beyond normal weathering, all as outlined in this warranty.
What is Excluded - Limitations
This warranty does not provide protection against any failure, defect or damage caused by
situations and events beyond normal and proper usage and exposure conditions, including but not
limited to the following, all of which void this warranty:
Improper installation not in accordance with Exteria guidelines (refer to Exteria’s website,
which among other things requires a proper water barrier and compliance with all codes.)
Misuse, abuse, vandalism or neglect.
Installations other than exterior siding installations or Mansard roof installations with less
than 75 degree exposure angle.
Faulty or improper storage, handling, maintenance or repairs.
Use of incompatible accessories as outlined in the installation guidelines.
Damage caused by impact of foreign objects, fire, earthquake, flood, lightening, hurricane,
tornado, windstorm or other acts of God.
Damage caused by movement, distortion, cracking or settling of the wall substrate,
building structure and/or foundation.
Damage caused by vegetation, insects, animals and organisms.
Exposure to chemicals either in liquid form or caused by air pollution such as solvents,
gasoline, pesticides, harmful cleaning compounds and similar materials.
Damage caused by power washing- power washing is not recommended; please see the
Care and Maintenance section for instructions on how to clean your siding.
Damage to siding that has been modified, i.e. painted or coated.
Damage due to exposure to excessive heat or reflective heat sources.
Any other cause not involving manufacturing defects in the product supplied by Exteria.
In addition, normal fading caused by weathering and atmospheric conditions (exposure to
sunlight, temperature swings, air pollution, mild, mildew, etc.) is not covered by this warranty.
Such exposure will cause many types of colored surfaces to degrade over time. The severity of
exposure depends on the atmospheric conditions of the geographical location where the products
are installed, over which Exteria has no control.
Normal fading is defined as a discoloration of up to four (4) Hunter units as calculated according
to ASTM D2244. Exteria shall have sole discretion to determine if the siding has faded beyond
normal fading.
