Using SelecType
The icon to the left of AUTO indicates that the option is not selected
and >SET indicates that you can set that option by pressing .
Note: Although the main menu options are the same for all
operating modes (LQ, FX, and LJ-2P), some Level 1 submenu
options are different in each mode. Submenu options for each
mode are discussed later in this chapter.
Set, select, or execute the option
To set, select, or execute an option, you simply press D
Press D to select AUTO. Then SET disappears from the display and
the > icon moves to the right of the display indicating that the new
option has been set:
At the same time, the icon moves to the left of the main menu option,
indicating that you are back in the main menu.
Note: If
you want
to back out to the main menu at any time
without changing a setting, press as many times as necessary.
Your new setting remains in effect until you change it again or turn
off the printer.
Save the setting
If you want a setting to remain in effect even when you turn the
printer off and on, you can use the SYSTEM CONFIG option to save
Level 1 settings, and the P-CONFIG SAVE option to save Level 2
settings. The SYSTEM CONFIG option SAVE MACRO setting is
described in Chapter 5, Changing the paper-size setting. The
P-CONFIG SAVE option is described later in this chapter.
