FOR THE PELLET INSERTS
MODEL NUMBERS 25-PI , 55-SHP20 and 55-TRP20
IMPORTANT NOTE: These pages cover installation instructions for
the Pellet Insert. For all other operating instructions, refer to the
sections previous to this.
THIS PELLET INSERT IS NOT APPROVED FOR MOBILE HOME INSTALLATION.
FOR MASONRY FIREPLACE INSTALLATION ONLY.
NOTICE:
The internal structure of the insert, including the electrical and mechanical
designs, is the same as the freestanding pellet units. Only the variations that
differ from the preceding instructions are listed in this section -- most procedures
will remain the same. Refer to those previous sections for unit preparation,
operation, electrical and maintenance instructions.
Remember to test (dry run) your insert model for 30 minutes before fully installing it into your
fireplace. The stove should automatically shut itself off after the 30-minute dry run.
NOTE: We suggest that you contact a professional installer for assistance in installing your
insert model if you are not experienced and familiar with wood pellet stove installation.
FLUE SYSTEM
This insert is equipped with a negative draft system that pulls air into the burn pot and
pushes the exhaust through the exhaust pipe and chimney. We recommend that at least five
feet (5’) of pellet vent flex pipe be used in this installation. This installation will also require a
pipe adapter to connect the flex pipe to the exhaust blower.
The unit will not function properly if the flue system is not properly installed. Read these
instructions carefully and refer to the diagram in this manual before installing the stove.
The manufacturer will not be held responsible for damage caused by the
malfunction of a unit that is improperly installed.

do not have enough space it can be achieved with a UL approved floor protector. This type
board can be purchased from your dealer or ordered from the factory.
2. Inspect the fireplace to be sure it is constructed of a noncombustible material such as brick
or stone. Do not install the insert on a hearth that is constructed of wood framework covered
with brick or false stone material. The manufacturer will not be held responsible for an
