Mitering Corners
1. Miter your mouldings to join pieces at corners. An
end miter is a 45° cut in the ends of two adjoining
pieces of moulding so they fit tightly together.
2. Chair rail and panel moulding are cut with the flat
side against the back of the miter box.
3.3. Cope inside corners by cutting along the profile left
by the miter cut.
Moulding Installation
1. Locate studs and mark for nail placement.
2. Apply a continuous 1/2” bead of construction adhe-
sive along the back of moulding lengths.
3. Press moulding against wall at the desired location.
4. Use finishing nails to secure moulding into place.
5. Apply chalk/filler in remaining gaps and smooth with
finger.
6. Touch‐up moulding as needed with 100% acrylic
paint.
*When ending moulding at entryway or corner, cut a
return piece and glue. Hold until set and paint to
finish.
*When moulding is thicker than surrounding casing,
bevel-cut with a shallow 45° cut.

• You can use standard woodworking tools to cut PVC products.
• Use scarf joints and join them at studs with PVC cement and stainless steel screws.
• Hot-dipped galvanized or stainless steel nails/screws are best for PVC trim.
• PVC expands and contracts with temperature. If you are installing above 80 degrees F, cut
pieces to fight tightly. 60-80 degrees, leave a 1/16-in gap for 18 ft of length. Below 60
degrees, leave a 1/8-in gap. After installation cover gap with acrylic caulk.
• Fill fastener holes in P• Fill fastener holes in PVC with acrylic caulk.
• Glue joints and miters together with PVC cement
• Use 100% acrylic paint before in stalling, finish with final coat to cover chalked holes
