4. The following occurs:
a. While updating the green light on Input 3 blinks.
b. If the update was successful, the green lights on Input 1 and 3 blink alternately; if the update failed
the amber light on Input 2 lights solid.

then resets and enters the active mode.
5. Check the information screen from the main menu to confirm the new firmware version. If the update
failed, use the procedure described in the Upgrading Firmware Using the Update Firmware Button
section.
If you choose to return to the factory default settings, or if instructed to do so as part of the particular
firmware version you are updating to, refer to the Resetting to Factory Default Settings on page 25.
Upgrading Firmware Using the Update Firmware Button
This is a fail-safe method that works even if the firmware becomes corrupted and you cannot load firmware
from the OSD.
1. Download the two firmware files from DVDO.com, place them on a USB flash drive, and insert the drive
into the USB slot on the back of Quick
6R
.
2. Unplug the power cord and all sources from Quick
6R
.
3. While pressing the Update Firmware button, plug in the power cord.
4. Continue to press the Update Firmware button until the green LED on port 3 lights solid, for about three
seconds.
5. Release the Update Firmware button.
6. If the update was successful, the green lights on Input 1 and 3 blink alternately; if it fails the amber light
on Input 2 lights solid. This process normally takes between five and ten seconds.
If you choose to return to also reset settings to the factory default settings, or if instructed to do so as part of
the particular firmware version you are updating to, refer to the Resetting to Factory Default Settings on
page 25.
