Updating Firmware
Quick
6R
allows firmware updates using a USB flash drive and the USB port on the Quick
6R
Rear Panel.
You can check the current firmware version using the OSD menu and accessing the information screen For
example: firmware version 0101 (filename Q6FW0101.BIN) displays as 01.01.xx on the information
screen.
Two files are required to update the Quick
6R
firmware, that are available from DVDO.com when new
firmware is released. The files are:

firmware:
The two files must be placed in the root directory of a FAT- or FAT32-formatted USB flash drive
The files must be in the format Q6FWxxxx.BIN and Q6FWxxxx.OSD where xxxx is the version number
of the firmware.
All letters must be upper case, including the extensions BIN and OSD.
The two files must have the same firmware version.
Only one pair of firmware files can exist in the root directory of the flash drive.
There are two methods for updating firmware: through the onscreen display and by pressing the Update
Firmware button. The preferred method is by using the onscreen display.
Updating Firmware Using the Onscreen Display
1. Download the two firmware files from DVDO.com, place them on an USB flash drive, and insert the drive
into the USB slot at the rear panel of Quick
6R
.
2. Press MENU on the Quick
6R
remote control, select Advanced Settings, then select Load FW from USB.
3. Press ENTER to confirm that you want to update the firmware.
BIN file which contains the actual firmware binary, and
OSD file which contains the fonts, text, and graphics for the OSD.
