Description
Duck Coat Rubberized Coating for Rubber Roofs is
specifically engineered for application over EPDM,
TPO and PVC rolled rubber roofing materials.
Duck Coat features superior adhesion and low
temperature flexibility. Superior UV and weather
resistance results in long term protection for rolled
rubber roofing materials. Dries white.
Uses
EPDM, TPO and PVC Rolled Rubber Roofing
materials, metal and asphalt roofs.
Important
Read entire label before using. Application
temperature must be a minimum of 60°F and
rising. Do not apply when temperature is expected
to drop below 60°F within a 24 hour period. In
areas where dew or fog accumulates in the early
evening, it is best to coat in the morning. Stop
coating by early afternoon (3:00 pm) to prevent
wash off, which will occur if dew, fog, or rain
arrives before coating dries. Do not apply if
rain is imminent or forecast within 24 hours of
application. Be sure to wear eye protection when
mixing or applying roof coating. This product is not
recommended for dead level flat roofs subject to
ponding water, gravel or shingled roof surfaces.
Surface Preparation
EPDM, TPO and PVC Rolled Rubber Roofing - Be
sure to remove all dust, dirt, and embedded clay
to assure proper adhesion. Thoroughly scrub roof
surface with SealBest Concentrated Roof Cleaner
or Bleach solution (1 part chlorine bleach and 3
parts water) and pressure wash entire roof surface.
Use a wide tip on pressure washer to prevent
tearing roof material. Allow surface to dry.
Other Roof Surfaces (Metal and Asphalt) - Sweep
off all dirt, dust, and debris. Remove rust, mildew,
oil, grease, or other foreign material on the
surface. Scrub roof with SealBest Concentrated
Roof Cleaner or Bleach Solution (1 part chlorine
bleach and 3 parts water). Rinse thoroughly and
allow to dry.
Application
Stir pail thoroughly. Do not dilute. Apply material
with either a soft brush, ¾” nap paint roller, or
a high-pressure sprayer. Allow first coat to dry
thoroughly before applying successive coats.
Clean Up
Wash tools with water before material dries.
Weather Conditions
Indoor temperature should be 65°-70°F during
application of DUCK COAT. When applying DUCK
COAT to exterior (outdoor) surfaces, temperature
should be a minimum of 60°F and rising during
application. Temperature shall not drop below 60°F
within 24 hours after application. In areas where
dew or fog accumulates in the early evening, it is
best to apply sealer in the morning. Stop coating
by early afternoon (3:00 pm) to avoid wash off,
which will occur if dew, fog, or rain arrives before
coating dries. Do not apply to outdoor surfaces if
rain is imminent or forecast within 24 hours after
application.
Coverage (Approximate)
One 4.75-gallon pail will cover approximately 200
square feet for a two-coat application (400 square
feet per coat). A minimum of two coats must be
applied for optimum performance and Warranty
purposes.
RESTRICTIONS - PROTECT CONTAINER FROM
FREEZING.
Attention
Empty containers may retain material residues.
Dispose of empty container in accordance with
local, state, and federal regulations based upon
chemical composition of contents.
Caution
Avoid breathing vapors and contact with eyes
and skin. Do not take internally. Clean hands
thoroughly after using. If material gets in eyes
or mouth call a physician immediately. Use with
adequate ventilation.
