OPERATION
Instructions for Use
WARNING: Always observe the safety
instructions and applicable regulations.
WARNING: To reduce the risk
of serious personal injury, turn
tool off and disconnect tool from
power source before making any
adjustments or removing/installing
attachments or accessories.
WARNING:
Ensure the material to be sawn is
secured in place.
Apply only a gentle pressure to the
tool and do not exert side pressure on
the saw blade.
• Avoid overloading.
WARNING: For applications where
mineral dust or hardwood is emitted due
to the work process the machine shall be
connected to a suitable dust extraction
system.
Proper Hand Position (fi g. 1, 6)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, ALWAYS use
proper hand position as shown.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, ALWAYS hold
securely in anticipation of a sudden
reaction.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the
front handle (d) with the other hand on the rear grip
handle (c).
Switching On and Off (fi g. 1)
For safety reasons the ON/OFF switch (a) is
equipped with a lock-off button (b).
1. Push the lock-off button (b) to unlock the tool.
2. To run the tool, press the ON/OFF switch (a).
As soon as the ON/OFF switch is released the
lock-off switch is automatically activated to
prevent unintended starting.
3. Always switch off the tool before unplugging.
Sawing (fi g. 1, 3, 4, 6)
NOTICE: Do not use the saw for cutting
curves or pockets. Make sure the bar
end protrudes from the workpiece.
For long, straight cuts first draw a line on the
workpiece and follow the line.
Make downward cuts only. Avoid cutting earth as
this will blunt the saw blades very quickly.
When using a saw horse always cut on the outside
of the saw horse arms.
1. Clamp the workpiece on one side only to
prevent the bar from jamming in the workpiece.
Should this happen, ease open the cut with
wedges to relieve the strain on the blade. Do
not try to wrench the saw free.
2. Hold your D
EWALT power tool by the front
handle (d) and the rear grip handle (c) to guide
the saw properly.
