It is important to understand how finished edges go together. Take a moment to lay out all the wood pieces and note the finished and unfinished (raw wood) edges. Arrange pieces so all finished edges are facing the same way.

STEP 1 unfinished edges of unit facing up. A B A (H3) x 4 assembly screw #5mm x 38mm 1. 2. 6 Use four assembly screws (H3) to attach side panels (A) to shelf (B). See “helpful hints” on page 7 on finished and unfinished edges.
STEP 2 B B (H2) x 8 screw cover 1. (H3) x 4 assembly screw #5mm x 38mm Attach shelf (B) to side panels with four assembly screws (H3) and then cover all screw heads with a screw cover (H2).
STEP 3 For stacking units only - cut back panel first. For single & stacking unit(s). If stacking, place cut hole here Cut hole first " " C B (H4) x 20 nail 1. If you plan to stack units, use scissors or utility knife to cut a 3/4” x 1-1/4” hole in top center location of back panel. 2. 8 With all unfinished edges facing up, square up the unit by placing back panel onto the cabinet. Nail the back into position using nails (H4). Avoid angling nails.
STEP 4 wall stud or Top panel B top panel (H5) x 1 L-bracket (H6) x 1 L-bracket screw #10 x 1/2” flathead Wall stud (H7) x 1 wall screw #10 x 1-1/2” 1. Align unit with wall stud and refer to page 8 for L-bracket installation instructions. 2. Place short end of L-bracket (H5) against wall/wall stud. Use 1-1/2” screw (H7) to secure L-bracket to wall stud. 3. Use 1/2” screw (H6) to secure L-bracket to shelf (B).
STEP 5 All smooth, finished edges up. E E E D D E All smooth, finished edges face out. 1. 2. 10 Slide together 4 slot cross pieces (D) and 2-slot cross pieces (E) as shown. Slide assembled cross pieces into finished unit.
STEP 6 or for stacking or for single unit or (H1) x 2 short dowel (H8) x 2 hole plug 1. For single unit: Insert hole plugs (H8) into top holes. For stacking units: insert dowels (H1) into top holes.
